Alpha

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Each session includes food, a video talk looking at a different faith question and is followed by a small group discussion to explore your questions and create conversation. Our next Alpha course will be on Sunday nights from 6.30pm with the Alpha dinner on 28 April from 6.30pm. Contact us to register.

Alpha Marriage Course

Alpha Marriage Course is a seven week course that offers couples practical support to strengthen and prioritize their relationship. It helps couples to: communicate more effectively; understand each other's needs; resolve conflict; recognize how our upbringing affects the relationship; develop greater sexual intimacy and much, much more ...

Each session includes food and a video talk. No group work or discussing your marriage with others.

CAP Money Course

In partnership with Christians Against Poverty we help you learn to budget, spend and save so you reach your goals faster. When you use CAP Money principles your money goes further. It’s almost like getting a pay rise! Three 90-minute sessions is all it takes and the course is completely free.

Creation Care

We gather to explore and discuss topics around creation care, responding to God's defined purpose for humanity  "The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it." (Genesis 2.15). We are an Eco Church in partnership with A Rocha NZ We meet monthly on the 1st Thursday from 7.30-9pm.

Creative Ministry

This encompasses a worship team of vocalists, musicians, data and sound technicians, dancers and artists who have a heart for worship and artistic expression.

Hui Tamariki

Our children stay in the service for the first 20 minutes during worship, offering, celebrations and notices. Hui Tamariki is for school age and these programmes are to support parents in the discipleship of their children and help kids feel part of the church through using biblical, relevant and child-focused curriculum that invites personal faith and growth. Parents with toddlers are welcome to stay in the service, or you can sit with them in the Lounge to the side of the auditorium.

Kid’s Kitchen

A chance for children 7-12 years to prepare, eat and clean-up a meal together. Learning cooking and life skills together. $2 per child.

Tuesday 3.30-4.30pm for 7-9 year olds. (term time)

Thursday 3.30-5.30pm for 10-12 year olds (term time)

Ladies Café

A monthly women’s group with interesting speakers or activities to grow personally and relationally with others. 1st Tuesday each month from 10am-12noon

Motueka Men’s Breakfast

A cooked breakfast for local men followed by a discussion or conversation around a 'topic of interest'. It is a gathering point for men to share stories, experiences and to find a supportive community. Bring a koha, Saturdays 8-9am

Moving Ahead - Everyday English

A free ESOL class designed to help migrants gain confidence in learning and speaking basic English. It will be based around tried and true methods and have interesting topics to help you learn about life in New Zealand. Led by experienced teachers.

Where - Motueka Baptist Church Lounge (15 Greenwood St, Motueka)

When - Tuesdays 7.00pm-8.30pm

Who - For any adult who wants to learn English. Suitable for beginners.

Neighbourhood Community Groups and Life Groups

Our Neighbourhood Community Groups are focused on meeting locally and partnering with what God is doing in our neighbourhoods of Motueka, Riwaka, Tasman and Motueka Valley. We eat together in homes to develop fellowship, our gifts, our Christian character and to pray and care for each other and our neighbours.

Servants

Meeting practical needs including gardening, transport, odd jobs and removing graffiti.

Te Haerenga ki Motueka

Te Haerenga (The Journey) is focused on Christian discipleship and Māori cultural values. Te Reo is encouraged and used throughout gatherings and activities on all levels. These activities include mau-rākau (weaponry), kapahaka (song and dance), mahi toi (creative arts), mahinga kai (food gathering and other skills), touch rugby. Sean Delany is Kaihautu.

Whanau, Fun and Food

A monthly activity is arranged that is for teens and their families (and anyone who is keen for an adventure).

Zone YG

An after school drop in for Years 9-13. This is a well supervised fun time that includes, afternoon tea, fun, discussion and activities that grow community and faith in Jesus. Fortnightly Tuesdays from 3.30-5pm during term time.

We have a committed team of pray-ers who will pray for specific needs. Please contact us to submit a prayer request.

Opportunities to gather to pray

Sunday at 9.30am in the pastor’s office.

Wednesday at 8-9am in the church lounge. This can also be accessed through Zoom. Email Paul Cossey to get the link.

Each of our Life Groups are encouraged to support each other in prayer.

Each Sunday people are available to pray with you personally.

Jesus said, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen” (Matthew 6:6 NIV).

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4.6 NIV)
